Proper sunless preparation is imperative for your absolute best results!

Shaving is a form of exfoliation, so it is best to complete shaving the day before your session and resume shaving 24 hours after your session. LUXE TIP – Shave with a conditioner to eliminate any film left on the skin.
Exfoliation is essential to remove dead skin cells from the skin and expose the freshest skin for your sunless tan to develop on. (This ensures the longest life of your tan.) Physical exfoliation with a mitt is going to be the best form of exfoliation. The Kessa Mitt is available in the studio for purchase.
COMPLETE MANICURE & PEDICURE
It is best to complete any nail appointments before your sunless appointment. Your LUXE Body Bronzing Artist will ensure your nails are cleaned during your session. If you must get your nails done after your sunless tan, we recommend the next day and just polish – no exfoliation or soaking.
DISCONTINUE BAR SOAPS & CREAM BODY WASHES COMPLETE ANY SPA TREATMENTS MOISTURIZE ENTIRE BODY
These soaps (bar soap, Dove/OLAY) leave a film on the skin and won’t allow proper sunless development. It is best to discontinue the use of these soaps 5 days prior to and for the entire duration of your sunless tan for best results.
It is best to complete any spa treatments beforfe your sunless session.
LUXE TIP – your sunless session should always be your last beauty treatment.
Moisturize your skin with a spray tan safe body lotion a couple days before your tan to ensure your skin is nice and hydrated.
DISCONTINUE SHOWERING DISCONTINUE PRODUCT APPLICATION ENSURE PROPER CLOTHING
It is best not to shower right before your sunless appointment to ensure proper skin pH. Please allow at least 6 hours between your shower and your appointment. If you must shower – rinse with cold water and skip the soap. Make it quick.
Avoid applying lotions, oils, perfumes and make-up prior to your session. These products can act like a barrier on the skin. If you must apply products please note we do keep make-up wipes and wipes for deodorant removal in the studio.
During your session you may wear whatever you are most comfortable in. (Ment must wear undergarments.) We do provide disposable thongs and nipple covers in the studio.
POST TAN – It is best to wear dark, loose-fitting clothing with open-toed shoes. Bras are also not recommended for best results.
During Your Visit

First, your LUXE Body Bronzing Artist will walk you through our client intake form and go over any questions you may have. We will then go over all solution options and customize the best solution for you.
You LUXE Body Bronzing Artist will then introduce you to the sunless room. We provide all necessary items for you here. (Make-up wipes, disposable thongs, and nipple covers.)
Your LUXE Body Bronzing Artist will walk you through the entire process. Sunless sessions take around 25 mins to complete.
RIGHT AFTER YOUR TAN
AVOID SKIN-ON-SKIN CONTACT
After your session is complete it is imperative to keep your hands from touching your skin. The best way to ensure this is to wear clothing that protects your skin as much as possible. Limit any skin on skin contact until your initial rinse to avoid any transfer.
AVOID MOISTURE UNTIL YOU RINSE
RINSE AT DESIGNATED TIME
For your best results it is important to refrain from getting wet or sweating until your initial rinse is complete.
It is important to rinse at your designated time for your best results. Your first shower is always just a rinse with lukewarm water and no products. Massage your skin in the shower to ensure all bronzer is rinsed away. Always pat to dry with your towel. Your tan will continue to develop over a full 24 hours.
24 HOURS
PRESERVE YOUR TAN
It is best to wait a full 24 hours from your session before applying moisturizer or using any soaps.
Using products on your skin before full color development can hinder results.
For your best results it is best to avoid long hot showers, swimming in chlorine, hot tubs, and saunas for long periods of time. If you plan to take part in these activities, it is recommended to have tan extending products at home to preserve the life of your tan.
